Gynecological ultrasound
As an independent diagnostic exam or after the bimanual (performed by hand) exam, gynecological ultrasound is performed.
The ultrasound is performed with a special ultrasound probe and we obtain a picture on the screen.
Gynecological ultrasound is mainly performed with a vaginal probe for the purpose of diagnosing possible fibroids on the uterus. Conditions of the uterine lining, possible polyps, establishing early pregnancy, detecting various cysts on the ovaries, monitoring follicles in the eventual diagnosis and treatment of the cause of sterility and so on. A full bladder is not required for this examination.
If the patient has not had sexual intercourse the ultrasound examination can be performed with an abdominal probe (through the stomach). For this examination it is required to fill in the bladder.
This examination is painless and we perform it on our state-of-the-art ultrasound device.
